Air Liquide is continuing its development in Germany with the acquisition of two outpatient intensive care companies, intensivLeben GmbH and AP-Sachsen GmbH. With this operation, the Group broadens its presence in the care market. Air Liquide accompanies more than 220,000 patients in Germany, with a growing presence over the last 25 years. As part of its Healthcare activity, a Group’s growth driver, Air Liquide already supports worldwide 2.1 million people at home living with a chronic disease and has made Home Healthcare activities one of its strategic development priorities.
The newly acquired entities operate in the Saxony region, one of the most densely populated regions of Eastern Germany, between Berlin and Bavaria where the Group is already present, with a strong footprint in the local market. Both companies are operating in the German outpatient intensive care business, focusing on Community Care centers, shared apartments for severe patients who suffer from chronic respiratory insufficiency, craniocerebral trauma, and neuromuscular diseases. They provide personalized intensive care to patients, and manage 9 centers, thanks to 138 employees, including around 100 nurses.
Air Liquide has been present in Germany in Home Healthcare for 25 years and has successfully managed to become one of the major players in the Community care sector, with 20 Community Care centers across Germany. Drawing on its experience and expertise in personalized support for patients, Air Liquide, through these acquisitions, is strengthening its geographic footprint and its presence in services for chronic patients.
